How to Fix iOS 8.4 iCloud Music Library Problems

Apple Music users have been running into all sorts of problems after the iOS 8.4 update’s arrival but one of the most common is an iCloud Music Library Can’t be Enabled error.
If you start using Apple Music on your device and you run into this error, know that there is an easy fix. You simply need to enable iCloud Music Library in order to use Apple’s new music platform. Here is how to get rid of this pop up if you encounter it after trying to use Apple Music:
  1. First head into your Settings on the iPhone or iPad.
  2. Next, tap on the Music app .
  3. After that, flip iCloud Music Library to On.
  4. Now, choose to Merge or Replace your music library. Both work.
  5. You should be good. If it doesn’t work, try a few more times. It should work eventually.

How to Fix iOS 8.4 Wi-Fi Problems

Wi-Fi problems are among the most common smartphone afflictions so it’s not surprising to hear and see complaints about iOS 8.4 Wi-Fi problems in the days after its release.
iOS Wi-Fi problems can be difficult to fix though there are some proven remedies that you’ll want to try if you run into poor connectivity with the iOS 8.4 update.
iPhone-6s-3
The first thing that we recommend is resetting your Network Settings. To do this, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will take a few minutes and it will forget all of your connections so you’ll want to have all of your passwords handy before doing it.
If you don’t want to do that, you can forget each Wi-Fi connection individually. To do that, simply go into Settings > Wi-Fi > Select your connection > Tap Forget this Network at the top of the screen. Then, try reconnecting to see if that kickstarts the connection.
If those quick fixes don’t work, you should try rebooting your router and your modem. Unplug them for a good minute and then plug them back in to see if that alleviates the problems. You might also want to look into updating your router’s firmware. The instructions can probably be found online.
For a few other potential fixes for iOS 8.4 Wi-Fi problems, you can head here.

How to Fix iOS 8.4 Cellular Data Problems

Cellular data issue are also extremely common after iOS updates. We’ve seen a few complaints about cellular data in the iOS 8.4 update’s aftermath. Cellular data issues are also extremely hard to fix manually but we’ll outline some fixes that have helped us fix problems in the past.
If you’re sure that the cellular data issues affecting your services (iCloud, Siri, etc) aren’t related to a carrier outage or issue, you’ll first want to restart your iPhone or iPad. Hold down the power button, shut it down, and then reboot to see if that dislodges the problem.

If a simple restart doesn’t work, the next thing to try is toggling Cellular Data off and then back on again. To do that Cellular > Cellular Data > Toggle Off. Toggle it back on to see if that gets things moving again.
If that doesn’t work, try flipping Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds and then turning it off. Airplane Mode will kill all of your connections.
And finally, if you’re not getting a good LTE connection, try shutting down LTE for a few minutes and then turning it back on. To do that, go in Settings > Cellular > Enable LTE > Off. Once you turn it off, you’ll rely on your carrier’s backup network. Wait a little bit and then flip LTE back on to see if service is restored.
If nothing works, contact your carrier.

How to Fix iOS 8.4 Bluetooth Problems

Bluetooth problems always pop up after iOS updates and we’re already seeing users complain about a variety of iOS 8.4 Bluetooth problems.
Fixes for Bluetooth problems are similar to the fixes for Wi-Fi problems. First, you’ll want to try resetting your Network Settings. Again, that’s Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will forget your Bluetooth devices and you’ll need to reconnect.

If you don’t want to forget everything, you can go into each connection individually and forget the connection. Settings > Bluetooth > Select your connection using the circular blue i tab > Tap Forget this Device.
You can also try resetting all of your settings. This has worked for some iPhone and iPad users in the past. To do that, Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will take a little time to complete so make sure you set aside some time for the process to complete.
If you’re dealing with Bluetooth problems in the car, you’ll need to consult your car’s manual because you’ll want to reset the Bluetooth connection in there. Once you’re able to do that, try pairing the device with the car again. In some cases, this has worked to dislodge problems.

How to Fix iOS 8.4 App Problems

We haven’t run into any major app problems after installing iOS 8.4 though we’ve seen complaints about app performance in the hours since the update’s Tuesday release. App hiccups are common after iOS updates.
To try and fix issues with your app, you’ll first want to install the latest bug fixes assuming the update isn’t the one causing the problems in the first place.
If the latest bug fixes don’t work, you can try reinstalling the application on your device. This has worked for us in the past. Simply delete the app and then install it again via the App Store. If that doesn’t work, you’ll want to report the issues to the developer so that it can fix the problem in a future update.

How to Improve iOS 8.4 Performance

If you are noticing lag or UI problems like some iOS 8.4 users are, you’ll want to consult our list of potential fixes for iOS performance problems.
When iOS 8 first came out, we outlined a number of different strategies including reducing animations and pretty effects, resetting settings, or restoring back to factory settings. All of these things still apply nearly a year after the update’s release on iPhone and iPad.

How to Fix iOS 8.4 Messages Problems

We’re already seeing complaints about Messages after the iOS 8.4 update. Not surprising because we always see Messages problems after major iOS updates.
If Messages starts acting up, you’ll first want to toggle it off then on again. To do that, go into Settings > Messages > Toggle iMessage off then back on again. That’s helped iron out our issues in the past.
iPhone5s-1
If that doesn’t work, you can try rebooting your device. If that doesn’t work, it’s now time to head into your device’s network settings for a quick reboot.
To accomplish that, head into Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Again, the device will reboot and forget your network connections so make sure you have that information handy.

How to Fix iOS 8.4 Problems If Nothing Else Works

If nothing here works, there are a few more options. First, you can downgrade back to iOS 8.3. You can’t downgrade back to anything older than that and the iOS 8.3 downgrade will probably be open for another week or so.
You can also perform a factory reset and restore from a backup. This will wipe everything on your phone or tablet and return it back to the way it was when you first bought it.
To perform a full on factory reset, Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. This is a proven fix for many iOS problems but it’s time consuming so only use it as a last resort.
If you can’t figure it out yourself, you can take your device into an Apple Store. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar and see if they can’t diagnose your problem. Who knows, maybe it’s a bloated battery causing your battery life problems, not iOS 8.4.

As it stands, Apple's iOS 9 beta does not support the company's brand new Apple Music platform. That will change very soon as the company's Eddy Cue has confirmed that an upcoming iOS 9 beta release will bring Apple Music support to testers.
Cue says that Apple will seed a brand new iOS 9 beta 3 next week. He did not confirm a specific release date for the new iOS 9 beta only saying that the update would be coming sometime "early next week." Apple is well-known for releasing new updates on Monday so it's possible that we'll see it emerge after the holiday weekend.
Apple Music is the company's brand new platform and it's available to anyone capable of upgrading to iOS 8.4. iPhone and iPad users with a valid Apple ID can take part in a free three month trial of the service before a paid subscription is required.
